In memory: Professor Peter Hartmann

In memory of Emeritus Professor Peter Edwin Hartmann AM – scientist, mentor and friend

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Peter Hartmann, who died peacefully on 12 August 2021.

Peter was probably the most acclaimed research expert in human milk and lactation. He enriched the lives of generations of mothers and children throughout his 50-year career, and his legacy and influence on the field will be everlasting.

Peter was a long-standing mentor and friend to Michael Larsson, our former President and, together with Göran and their father, founder of the Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation. At the foundation, Peter shared his wisdom as a dedicated member of the Scientific Advisory Board. For each one of us, it was an honor to learn from him and be inspired by his humbleness and passion for knowledge and teaching others.

We are humbled by his work and forever grateful for his friendship and generous guidance to the Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation. We will miss him and remember him always.
