This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating Philomina Amofah, MPH, one of the amazing women we’re fortunate and honored to work with.

Philomina is a Quality Improvement Scientist and the Breastfeeding & Nutrition Lead at Ubora Institute. She and her colleagues are coordinating the ‘Breastmilk for Life – Ghana’ pilot project, working with government leaders and public health experts to increase national breastfeeding rates.

“Breaking down barriers to breastfeeding is one route to equality and empowerment for women and families in Ghana. It’s very gratifying to be engaged in a project aimed at helping mothers and children thrive,” says Philomina.

We agree! And we extend our immense gratitude to you, Philomina, for your hard work and dedication. You’re bridging the gaps between policy and practice – thank you!

Ultimately, we and our partners in Ghana hope that the pilot can be scaled up and adapted by different regions for meaningful, long-term impact.
